BO & KO Baby are renowned for their stunning collections of baby goods with designs representing indigenous heritage, rooted in cultural identity and whakapapa. They have teamed up with the beloved Woolbabe to create a range of high quality baby sleepwear.

It was of the upmost importance that Māori culture was appropriately represented in this collaboration. BO & KO Baby worked closely with a Toi Māori artist to bring their vision for the design to life. They have been guided by their kaumātua and received blessing over this collaboration of product collections between BO & KO Baby and Woolbabe.

The unaunahi represents whānau and whakapapa.

The unaunahi, like a ripple in the water, has a centre point where each ripple once was.

As the ripple develops, an offspring replaces its spot. The spiral in which the ripples flow out of, represent balance and tranquillity.

This collaboration between BO & KO Baby and Woolbabe has received blessing from Ngāpuhi Kaumātua Ngāwati Hone Mau.

The combination of wool and cotton offers the best of both worlds, with the temperature-regulating properties of merino and the breathability and easy-care of cotton.  Often hot summer evenings and cooler mornings create conditions which are more difficult to gauge what your child should sleep in. The wool component of the Woolbabe fabric provides the qualities which react to changes in body temperatures, therefore keeping baby at more constant body temperature.  This helps everyone to have a good nights sleep!  Relax! What tog is the Woolbabe Summer Weight sleeping bag? 

Our Woolbabe sleeping bags are a merino blend and are not tog-rated. This is because merino wool is a natural fibre that adjusts according to temperature. Customers who are looking for a 0.2 or 0.5 tog sleeping bag often choose the summer-weight Woolbabe sleeping bag because it can be used in similar room temperature ranges to a 0.2 or 0.5 tog sleeping bag.  However, the Woolbabe summer bag covers a wider temperature range and therefore is more versatile, by simply varying the clothing layers underneath.

Woolbabe Sleeping Bags provide several benefits:

• Your baby sleeps safely as no bedding can get over their face
• Your baby stays at a consistent temperature all night as their bedding can't be kicked off
• Your baby develops a strong sleep association with their woolbabe, meaning it helps them know when it is sleep time

The Front Zip model is very quick and easy to use, just pop your baby's arms through the arm-holes and zip it closed. The under-arm snaps mean it is a more cosy fit when your baby is near the lower end of the size range.  This Woolbabe can also be used in your buggy with a 5-point harness. It has a double-ended zip on the front that closes at the top and zips downwards. It can also be unzipped from the bottom and opened upwards for nappy changing. There is a buggy slot in the back of the bag which can be used with the double-ended zip on the front.
